Jim Stewart

My name is Jim Stewart. I have been in the building trade for about nine years. I graduated from Hillsboro High school in 2001. I now live in Bonne Terre Missouri and am married and have two boys.  While in High school I took a two year class at Jefferson College called Building Trades. After I graduated I work for my father as an electrician for three years and went to an electrical trade school for two years. After that I joined the Carpenters Union and became a member of the Carpenters and Millwrights Local 2214. I started working for one of the largest commercial construction companies in St. Louis but I always wanted to do residential framing so I went to work for a smaller company building custom homes. From there I worked my way to the top and became their top carpenter. It was at this time that I met my wife and started working for her parents part time at their roofing company. Shorty after that the housing market started to slow down so I decided to make the change one last time while I could, so in 2008 I went to work full time at Artown Roofing & Contracting. I went to Texas to help open our second office after the hurricane.  From Texas we went to Oklahoma and opened our third office. I spent 6 months working to establish our name there before returning back home to settle in and grow my new line of business using the knowledge that I have taken in throughout the years. With the passion that I have for learning I did not waste any time, I got my Master Shingle Applicator certificate through CertainTeed shingle and went through training to become a Metal Pro Contractor through Union Corrugation to install metal roofing. I am always attending different training programs and have a number of certificates from every one so far. I also attended the OSHA Safety & Health training program and received my 10 hour OSHA card. Safety is something that I take very seriously. I have help to put a safety program in place at Artown and hope to continue my safety training in the future. I personally work with our suppliers, homeowners and their insurance companies to make sure that everything is in place so that quality is the end result in all of your home improvement projects. I always have an answer to a question and if I don’t know it right away I get it so that you are never in the dark. I want to take the time to personally thank you for considering Artown Roofing & Contracting for your next exterior project.
